    Dr. Joseph is the editor of Neurotheology and the author of two best selling neuroscience textbooks, Neuropsychology, Neuropsychiatry, Behavioral Neurology (Plenum, 1990), and Neuropsychiatry, Neuropsychology, Clinical Neuroscience (Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins, 1996).Dr. Joseph and colleagues were also the first to demonstrate neuroplasticity AND recovery of function in the primate brain; and the first to conclusively demonstrate the profound effects of the early environment on learning, memory and intelligence; and he pioneered research on the hormonal basis of sex differences--pioneering research published in esteemed scientific journals such as Comparative Neurology, Brain & Behavioral Research, Developmental Psychobiology, etc. -work first published in the late 1970s. Dr. Joseph is also the author of studies on split-brain functioning, and his work of the development of emotion, consciousness and the origin of thought, and cognition and the brain, was twice featured on the cover of the Journal of Clinical Psychology. More recent research and scholarly studies have concerned the evolution of language, sexuality, sex differences, and spirituality, and the development of the brain and human cognition. His works have received rave reviews in scientific journals.
